Bethany Stanbery began dancing before she was even born. Daughter of an accomplished belly dancer, her family encouraged her growth and expression through movement and music. She slipped into her first tutu at the age of 3 and continued to explore her passion for dance, studying with premiere companies, and teachers from Houston Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, NYC CATS, the Bolshoi Ballet, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Her passion led her to discover the elevated art of aerial performance in which she trains primarily in aerial silk. Dedicated self-study and private instruction with De La Guarda’s, Veronica DeSoyza, Night Flight Portland, and AirCat Aerial Arts has allowed Bethany to co-found MASC Artisans and Moksha Aerial Studio Collective; where she trains and instructs classes in aerial silk, aerial yoga, and performance choreography.
She has performed alongside artists of Momix, Cirque Du Soleil, Bellatrix Cirque, Beats Antique, and for the Young Presidents Organization.
Aside from her passion for the aerial arts, Bethany also enjoys practicing and teaching vinyasa yoga, rock climbing, and metalsmithing. She holds a B.S. in exercise physiology with an emphasis in anatomy and dance.
